Juan ‘Sico’ Bencosme is a visual storyteller, photographer, and creative born and raised in New York. As the son of Dominican immigrants, growing up at the intersection of Brooklyn and Queens shaped his deep connection to community, which remains at the heart of his artistic vision. For over 15 years, Juan has dedicated himself to advocacy and education, empowering others through storytelling, mentorship, and design.

His passion for visual storytelling began with animation, inspired by the expressive artistry of 101 Dalmatians and the deeply human narratives of films like Toy Story. This love for storytelling extends to his work in film photography, where he captures the energy of the city he loves and the people who shape his creativity.

Most recently, Juan has been part of the media team for the NY VS NY Nike basketball tournament and has photographed shows for artists such as Snoh Aalegra, Pusha-T, Roc Marciano, Nina Sky, and more.

Now, as he transitions into the world of character design and animation, Juan is driven by the desire to bring his community’s stories to life through design. His work reflects his belief that powerful visuals can connect generations, celebrate culture, and amplify underrepresented voices.
